Our Winter In Photos - January and February 2017

Our Winter In Photos – January and February 2017

I didn't take many pictures over the past 2 months simply because it was so darn cold and icy and windy and snowy and foggy! Most of these I took with my phone on quick trips to the barn or coop to feed and water animals.     ... continue reading...

Homemade Hamburger Buns

Homemade Hamburger Buns

I was SO excited the other day when I pulled these out of the oven! I have made hamburger buns MANY times over the past few years and I finally got them right!!! You're lucky you weren't around for some of my failed experiments with bun recipes. Lets face it, tight buns of steal may be great on your posterior, but that's not what you want in a good hamburger bun. These buns are light, soft and easily adjust to any size you prefer. A Couple Months In Photos – November and December 2016

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for 2017! I didn't take many pictures over the last couple of months, mostly because December was frigid and very snowy. I had no idea how many different kinds of meat you could use to make sausage, even without mixing in ground pork. Folks say they've successfully used ground turkey, chicken, ... continue reading...

Classic Skillet Meatloaf

Classic Skillet Meatloaf

I've never been a picky eater, but as a kid meatloaf was definitely not one of my favorites. After we got married Jess said "I would sure love some meatloaf, it's my favorite". I had never made meatloaf before and wasn't really thrilled that my husband was obviously going to want it every once in a while. I put off making it for as long as I could, but then I happened to come across a recipe in one of my cookbooks and gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! In ... continue reading...
