Jalapeno Popper Dip in a Cast Iron Skillet

Ingredients
  • 4 slices of bacon cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup sliced jalapeno peppers. You can keep the seeds or remove them depending on the amount of heat that you want. Seeds add heat!
  • 1 - 8oz package of cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Corn chips for dipping!
Instructions
  1. Cook the bacon pieces in a small cast iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. Drain bacon bits on a paper towel lined plate.
  3. Leave a little bacon grease in the skillet and saute the sliced jalapenos in the bacon grease.
  4. While the peppers are sauteing, mix the cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning together in a separate bowl.
  5. When the peppers are a little browned remove them from the heat and stir in the cream cheese mixture and the bacon. Spread the dip in the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
  7. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the dip is heated through.
  8. Serve with corn chips.
