So much happened in July and August that I’m having a hard time deciding which pictures to share!!
The raspberries went nuts for a few weeks! I now have plenty of jam on the shelves and in the freezer!
The kittens in the barn are, well….CUTE!
We ended up selling Cowboy Bill. We don’t want to breed our does this fall again and we had no easy way to separate him from the ladies. It was kinda sad but, he went to a good home and we got a handsome price for a handsome Billy goat!
The goslings (Basil & Sage) both grew a lot! Mary took both of them to the fair, and they were very popular!
Some things did great in the garden and others not so much. But, I would say all in all we had a great garden again this year despite the weird weather.
The sunflowers are amazing!
My little pullets started laying in August!
The twins born in mid-June are growing and into everything!
On August 1st Daphne FINALLY gave birth to triplets! Two girls and a boy. She is a SUPER mama and is feeding them all with no help!
Our big batch of meat bird went from looking like this in early July.
To looking like this at the end of August.
Josie took two of them to the fair and won Grand Champion Chicken! She sold it for $550.00!!
The whole batch of them are now happily resting in freezer camp!
I haven’t done nearly enough canning this year, but maybe this month I can make time for more preserving.
This little stray dog showed up and we never did find his family! He has decided that Josie is his favorite human and has made himself at home. We call him Jet!
We are still working on growing our little business. We decided that the farmers market was not the place for us. We are still selling locally and on-line though. The custom signs are my favorite, and the most rewarding when the customer sees the final product!
You can visit our little shop HERE.
We’ve been focusing on fall/Thanksgiving and will soon be working on Christmas signs!
Custom family signs will be available for Christmas presents!
If you have an idea for a custom sign we can make for you or have any questions you can email us at: sufficientacres@gmail.com
Hope you all had a great summer and are ready for fall!
