Our Winter In Photos - January and February 2017

I didn’t take many pictures over the past 2 months simply because it was so darn cold and icy and windy and snowy and foggy! Most of these I took with my phone on quick trips to the barn or coop to feed and water animals.

This old man spent most of the winter curled up on the couch next to the wood stove. He didn’t enjoy 3 feet of snow very much at all.

This guy however thought the snow was big fun!

If you look in the lower left corner of this photo you can see a few chickens out in front of their coop. That’s as far as they came out for 3 months.

We were snowed in for most of the winter, so to pass the time Jess and I started making barn board and blue pine signs. We ended up with so many signs we’ve decided to try to sell some at the home and garden show coming up in April!

Towards the end of February the sun came out and the snow started to melt ever so slowly…..

Despite being snowed in all winter the hens still kept laying enough eggs that I didn’t have to buy any over the winter, and now that the weather has warmed up a bit they are back to full production!
