Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup shortening or butter
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup milk
Instructions
  1. Mix the first 6 dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Cut in the shortening until you have small crumbs. Add the egg and milk and stir well. Drop dough by the spoonful onto a baking sheet to make 12 biscuits. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
