We got a good taste of summer this week.  It got hot, hot, hot and the garden took off!  Of all our animals the ducks definitely fared the best in the heat.  They went back and forth between their pool and the sprinkler with occasional naps…..oh, to have the life of a duck!  Here are this weeks photos and a video….

After our heat wave, it cooled down, clouded up, and even rained a bit.

The guys almost got the new coop completed, we are waiting on some tin for the roofing now.

Okay, so at what point do you stop patching and just buy a new one?  This is it’s third summer and I find myself wondering where that thin line is between frugal and ridiculously cheap….hmmmm.  The patches were remarkably successful however.  Jess found that wide strapping tape covered with aluminum tape both inside and out seems to work quite well. (both of which he happened to have)  The ducks are happy to have a pool that holds water longer than an hour!
