I know the school year is just about over and everyone is thinking about playing outside instead of doing school work, but I finally got this packet finished (it only took about a year and a half) and I thought maybe some of you could use some fun worksheets for the summer.  These would be great for little ones getting ready for pre-k and kindergarten.

Preview Learning shapes

There are 12 shapes included in this packet: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, diamond/rhombus, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, trapezoid, heart and star.  This packet covers each shape in several different (hands on) ways along with reinforcing writing & tracing skills, colors, cutting, and pasting.

I’ll show you a sample of each kind of worksheet that is included in the packet:

These shape dot worksheets always seem to be a big hit.  The kids can color, paint, stamp, use dot markers or stick stickers in each dot to make the shape, then practice writing the shape word.

This is one of the play dough mats that are included.  If you want just the play dough mats, you can find them for free right here on my “play dough post” along with a play dough recipe and other kinds of play dough mats.  Have Fun!!

Last is 6 shape review worksheets,

plus some big shapes (not pictured) that can be printed out for games or sorting.  This is what I do with them: Print all of the shapes out on different colored paper and laminate them.  If you have more than one student you can print several of each shape.  Tape them randomly to the floor around the room.  Then you call out a shape and the student can either jump on the correct shape, or toss a bean bag on it.  I’m sure there are many other uses for these too!

Here is a free, printable PDF file so you can print out the shape review worksheets and big shapes.
